The choice today

Expensive and slow — or cheap and risky. There is a third way.

A worn bushing or shaft sleeve is a simple part. Bought from the OEM it can take weeks. A cheap copy of unknown origin may arrive in the wrong bronze or steel, without the specified hardness and without papers — and the next superintendent asks why it is worn out again after a season.

OEM spare part
  • Fits — the drawing is the manufacturer's
  • High price for single parts
  • Lead times of weeks for non-stock items
  • Older series: often no longer listed
Cheap copy
  • Material unknown, no 3.1 certificate
  • Hardness and case depth not as specified
  • Fits out of tolerance — does not go in on board
  • Long transit, no contact for warranty
OceanSphere Fabrication
  • Made to your drawing or sample — in Germany or to German standards
  • 3.1 certificate, hardness and dimensional report
  • Below the OEM price for most parts
  • Everything through us, delivery planned around your ETA
What we make

The parts that wear out on deck and in the engine room

Single pieces and small series, from a 30 mm bushing to a ten-metre companionway. For pumps, winches, hatch covers, rudders, conveyors and steelwork of all common makes — and for industry and ports.

Configure part

No drawing at hand? Pick the part from the list.

For 23 part types the form is prepared: enter the dimensions, choose material, finish and documents — done.

How it works

From drawing to quay in five steps

01

Upload drawing, photo or description

A drawing is ideal — PDF, DWG, DXF or STEP. Without one, photos with a ruler and the main dimensions are enough to start. Tell us quantity, material if known, the certificates you need and when and where the vessel will be.

Day 0
02

Technical check and quote

We check the drawing, ask what is missing and propose material, heat treatment and tolerances where the drawing leaves them open. You receive a written quote with price, delivery date, inspection scope and documents. For items marked ◆ in the configurator the period starts once the requirements are clarified.

03

Manufacturing at the right workshop

We place the job with the workshop that fits the part — turning and milling, heat treatment, welding and steel construction. Material is bought with a 3.1 certificate as standard; you deal only with us, from drawing to quay.

Order
04

Inspection and documents

Functional dimensions are measured and recorded, hardened surfaces get a hardness test, welds the agreed inspection. On request a class surveyor witnesses the acceptance and signs a 3.2 certificate.

Delivery to yard, agent or quay

Delivery is planned around your ETA — to the yard, the ship's agent or the ship chandler, in Hamburg as well as in Rotterdam or Hong Kong: wherever the vessel calls. On board it only has to be fitted or welded in.

Quality & documents

You do not get a part. You get a part with a file.

Metal parts ship with the documents agreed in the quote — 3.1 as standard, 2.2 or 3.2 on request — so that your superintendent and the insurer have fewer questions.

  • Inspection certificate EN 10204 3.1 for the material of metal parts (2.2 or 3.2 on request)
  • Dimensional report of the functional dimensions, fits and clearances
  • Hardness report for hardened running surfaces (value and depth as agreed)
  • Marking and traceability to heat or batch number
  • Photo documentation before packing

Prefabricated steelwork

Built in the workshop. Welded in on board.

A corroded vertical ladder or companionway does not need days of cutting and fitting on board. We have it built in the workshop to the drawing or a survey, coated or galvanised, and delivered to the quay. The crew or a repair yard cuts out the old one and welds in the new — in many cases hours instead of days alongside.

  • Survey on board in German ports on request
  • S355, stainless 316L or sea-water resistant aluminium
  • Welded by qualified welders, weld documentation on request
Delivery

Planned around your ETA

Tell us where and when the vessel will be. We plan manufacturing and inspection backwards from that date and deliver to the yard, the ship's agent, the ship chandler or the quay. The delivery date is agreed in the written quote.
